The day has finally arrived! This past Friday I had all 4 wisdom teeth out, which isn’t the best idea 5 days before departure… but all is well. I’m a little sore and a little bruised but I had my lovely mum and boyfriend to take care of me. I ate a lot of mashed potatoes, drank a lot of apple juice and slept a LOT.. but I survived and now I’m gearing up for the trip to the airport in about 5 hours. My bag is packed (approx 22 pounds: 2 pairs of pants, 1 dress, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 tee shirts, 2 tank tops, 1 dressy shirt, leggings, 3 sweaters, 2 scarves, 1 jacket) and my camera’s charged (thanks Nick for picking up the memory!). I’m pretty much ready to go. My mouth is sore but I have T3s for the plane ride and hopefully the plane food is mushy enough to eat. I’m nervous and scared and excited. My stomach is full of butterflies and it’s hard to believe I’m FINALLY going on the trip of my dreams. It doesn’t even seem real. I’ve wanted this for so long and now that it’s finally here, I can’t believe it. I am immensely thankful for my nana’s generous gift in her estate, I know she would be happy to see me travelling the world as she so often did in her life. It is nice to know I will have family meeting me in London, even if I haven’t seen them in over 15 years! I am happy knowing my friends and family support my trip and my decision, even if my school has been side tracked momentarily. I know this trip will make me happier beyond words and will help me in accomplishing my scholastic endeavours.
So… next time you hear from me I’ll be in Great Britain! Wish me luck!
